Senate Candidate Jason Anderson Opposes SB 509, Champions Public Education

Overland Park, KS – Senate candidate Jason Anderson has announced his opposition to Senate Bill No. 509 (SB 509), a proposed legislation offering refundable tax credits to families opting for private or homeschooling over public education. Anderson criticizes the bill for diverting essential funds from public schools and unfairly benefiting affluent families at the expense of community-wide educational equity.

"SB 509 threatens the foundation of public education in Kansas by redirecting taxpayer dollars to private interests," Anderson stated. He urges Kansas senators to reject the bill, emphasizing the importance of investing in public schools that serve all children.
